Successful apprenticeship start in metal technology, electrical engineering and chemical laboratory
Bürs (AT). With the beginning of the new apprenticeship year, Getzner Werkstoffe is once again underlining its strong commitment to vocational education: on Monday, September 1st, five apprentices started their training in various faculties. With this intake, the leading expert in vibration protection continues to expand its long-standing commitment in developing young professionals.
Since the start of September 2025, the new apprentices have been preparing for three different professions: Sanja Jurisic (16) and Daniel Tuttner (15) are training in metal technology, Serhat Göresli (15) in electrical engineering, and Fabrice Sibeline (20) together with Benjamin Bischof (15) in chemical laboratory technology.
A particular highlight this year is the start of training in metal technology by Sanja Jurisic, marking a strong step towards gender balance in a field where women are traditionally underrepresented. This continues a positive trend with four young women starting their apprenticeships at Getzner in the previous year. “Since the launch of our apprenticeship programme in 1971, the share of female apprentices is around 40 per cent– an exceptionally high proportion for an industrial company,” emphasises Jürgen Rainalter, CEO of Getzner Werkstoffe.
Investing in future fields
By taking on two apprentices in chemical laboratory technology, Getzner is strengthening its expertise in sustainability as an area of growing strategic importance. The company is actively developing resource-sufficient formulations for its vibration-isolating materials, as well as new methods for chemical recycling of polyurethane. Electrical engineering is also of particular significance for Getzner: apprentices here gain skills that will play a key role in the future use of renewable energy – including the company’s own Alvier hydroelectric power plant in Bürs. “Our young talents are very important to us. A solid education and strong career prospects are crucial – both for the next generation and for us as a highly specialised company,” explains Jürgen Rainalter. “We focus on practical training, quality and team spirit, offering our apprentices the best possible opportunities for personal development and a successful career.”
