In 2020, Lita Ocean, a leading shipbuilding and marine services company in Singapore, built six patrol boats for the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore. To reach the required noise level of less than 80 dB inside the wheelhouse of the 17 meters long vessels, the naval architects and engineers relied on the elastic polyurethane material Sylomer® from Getzner Werkstoffe.

Below 80 dB: Noise level confirmed by measurement

The entire wheelhouse was placed on elastic Sylomer® bearings and so decoupled from sources of vibration disturbances like drive motors and pumps. After completing the installation works, measurements showed a very satisfying result. At maximum load the maximum noise level recorded was 79.2 dB.
