Compressors are found as components in various systems such as heat pumps or HVAC devices. The vibrations to be decoupled are mainly caused by the compression process of the refrigerant. Thanks to the wide range of Isotop®, Sylomer® and Sylodyn® products, standard solutions can be selected for every requirement.

Multiple bearing concepts for compressors in heat pumps
As a general rule of thumb, the closer the elastic bearing is to the compressor, the more effective it is. With heat pumps, decoupling the internal compressor has a direct effect on the primary airborne noise. There are three options to choose from, which differ in terms of their performance.
Two-step decoupling
With two-step decoupling, the compressor itself is placed on an elastic bearing and then mounted on an intermediate plate. Further elastic elements are installed underneath the intermediate plate. This double isolation leads to a significant improvement in the low-frequency range and considerably reduces noise.
Recommended products:
A combination of Sylomer®/Sylodyn® Compressor Grommet pro and Isotop® MSN-DAMP has proven to be particularly effective. Very good results can also be achieved when the Sylomer®/Sylodyn® Compressor Grommet pro is combined with Isotop® Compact.


Bearing with intermediate plate
An additional intermediate plate offers the advantage that the optimal bearings can be selected. These bearings are closer to the maximum capacity and therefore have a lower natural frequency. This is particularly advantageous for lighter scroll compressors in heat pumps. If additional components are mounted on the intermediate plate, this also reduces the mechanical loads on the refrigerant supply lines.
Recommended products:
Both Isotop® MSN-DAMP and Isotop® Compact are suitable as elastic bearings for the intermediate plate.


Direct bearing of the compressor
The direct decoupling of the compressor has proved particularly effective in confined installation spaces.
