For the 8th time, the Institute of Transportation of the Technical University of Vienna, in close cooperation with the Austrian Electrotechnical Association (OVE) and Eurailpress, is hosting “Vienna Railway Colloquium” with the main focus in 2010 on the subject of “Operation and Maintenance of Urban Rail Networks”.

Urban railways often comprise the heart of public transportation networks. In order to boost the performance and reliability of these systems, a wide range of maintenance work and well-organized operations are necessary. Two special areas are of key importance in this regard: one focuses on research and development for urban rail systems and the other involves the requirements related to rails and track in the urban environment, which is a very broad field.

Experts from various European countries will be discussing and presenting on these two areas.
