Outstanding impact noise insulation
Climbing stairs is a must sometimes, noise isn't – thanks to Sylomer®.
Walking on stairs causes impact noise, which continues in the stairwell and is acoustically perceived as a disturbing noise in adjacent parts of the building, especially at night. The acoustic separation of the flights of stairs and landings is achieved, among other things, by means of stair bearings or bracket bearings made of Sylomer strips. This cuts the transmission of sound and vibrations to adjacent building components, walls and ceilings and therefore reduces the noise generated. This acoustic separation ensures more peace and quiet, greater living comfort and a better quality of life.
Sylomer® is a high-quality technical material for elastic decoupling that has proven itself in the field for decades and is equally suitable for concrete and lightweight stairs. It is easy and quick to install, durable and maintenance-free. Independent measurements confirm a high impact noise improvement of 31 dB.
- Excellent impact noise insulation with minimum installation height
- Sylomer® sound control suitable for precast concrete, in-situ concrete or lightweight stairs
- Effective impact noise protection across the entire load range of 31 dB
- Compensates for construction tolerances, low deflection (no floating feeling when walking)
Case Study
Three steps to success
The challenge: Lightweight stairs as potential sources of noise in a terraced housing complex.
The Getzner solution: Flights of stairs elastically decoupled with Sylomer® as sound control on floor, wall and ceiling
The result: Greater living quality and improved room acoustics through effective reduction of sound transmission into adjacent rooms
„Tested in the laboratory, proven in practice: the stair bearings meet even the most stringent requirements for increased impact noise protection. The positive feedback from our customers has impressed us.“
