Lightweight Stair Bearing in a terraced Housing Complex, Munich

Contacts
Climbing stairs is a must sometimes, noise isn't – thanks to Sylomer®.
Walking on stairs causes impact noise, which continues in the stairwell and is acoustically perceived as a disturbing noise in adjacent parts of the building, especially at night. The acoustic separation of the flights of stairs and landings is achieved, among other things, by means of stair bearings or bracket bearings made of Sylomer strips. This cuts the transmission of sound and vibrations to adjacent building components, walls and ceilings and therefore reduces the noise generated. This acoustic separation ensures more peace and quiet, greater living comfort and a better quality of life.
Sylomer® is a high-quality technical material for elastic decoupling that has proven itself in the field for decades and is equally suitable for concrete and lightweight stairs. It is easy and quick to install, durable and maintenance-free. Independent measurements confirm a high impact noise improvement of 31 dB.
Case Study
When building the new terraced housing complex in Perlach, south-west of Munich, the renowned company Fuchs-Treppen was responsible for installing the staircases. A top-quality indoor environment requires effective protection against sound transmission. As lightweight stairs particularly facilitate the transmission of impact noise, bearings made from the elastic material Sylomer® were specially developed by Fuchs-Treppen and Getzner.
