Elastic insertion pads for sleeper boots
Slab track systems require sufficient elasticity to activate the load distributing characteristics of the rail. So in the case of the Sonneville LVT system, the slab track has been designed with single block sleepers in rubber sleeper boots and Sylodyn® elastic insertion pads from Getzner. Elastically mounted sleeper blocks have the advantage of reducing the level of structure-borne noise emissions, due to the additional mass through which the vibration must travel.
As Getzner insertion pads are available in any desired stiffness, it is perfectly possible to meet the most varied of requirements. The most frequent applications for this system are found in various types of tunnel sections.
