The newly opened Alpstadt Lifestyle Hotel in Bludenz sits on a hillside providing breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding mountains. The construction method used for the split-level, 3,000 square metre building is one of its stand-out special features: the seven-storey hotel was designed using sustainable construction methods in wood. The modular prefabrication process took place in parallel with the excavation and structural works, allowing construction of the hotel rooms to proceed expeditiously – taking just nine months from start to finish.
The aim of the hotel owner was to create a retreat for business customers, the active holidaymaker and those seeking rest and relaxation. The same fundamental requirement applied for all guests, whoever they might be: the need for peace and quiet. As such, effective sound control was a key aspect in the design of the project.

The benefits
Sound mainly propagates through the sides of the modules. Using elastic bearings means we have been able to almost completely eliminate sound transmission between the individual modules.
