Getzner awarded "salvus Silver" health quality seal
For many years Getzner has been promoting health and fitness measures to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of its staff. Many of these measures were even implemented as the result of repeated prompting from the workforce itself. In recognition of these efforts, the company was awarded the "salvus Silver" health quality seal on March 25th 2015. "The 'salvus Silver' quality seal is awarded to companies who place great importance on the health of their staff," explains Anita Häfele, Managing Director of the "Fonds Gesundes Vorarlberg" [Healthy Vorarlberg Fund].
Establishing a healthy working environment is essential to be awarded this quality seal. "Health has many aspects, which is why we consciously invest in this area. After all, it's the staff who make the company what it is," explains Bernd Längle, head of HR at Getzner. Over the year there have been a number of running events, a cycling competition, hiking expeditions, ski days, cross-country skiing events, football tournaments and yoga courses, as well as company outings and festivities. Regional food and drink is also a part of the financially supported program.
As mental health is an equally as important issue, Getzner also hosts talks on current issues such as promoting a healthy work/life balance or the dangers of addiction. If managers or other staff feel the need for professional support in stressful working situations, they can call on the help of special coaching and supervision. Since 2013 Getzner employees have also been able to call on the advisory services of the Institut für Sozialdienste (IfS - Institute for Social Services), with a portion of the costs being picked up by the company. Flexible working hours, part-time hours and leaves of absence are also possible in coordination with private and company requirements.
