Floating floors for ships
Floating floors in ships from Getzner are IMO/SOLAS certified and increase comfort levels on board ships and yachts.
The Getzner Box-in-Box system significantly reduces vibrations, and consequently secondary airborne noise. Floors and walls are lined and decoupled from their environment with Sylomer® Marine strips.
This method enables noise and vibration-sensitive areas such as cabins, the wheelhouse or power distribution units to be protected, and significantly increases comfort levels and service life in these areas. Sources of disturbance such as engine compartments, air-handling units, heliports, entertainment areas or swimming pools can also be elastically decoupled by applying this principle: the transmission of vibrations to the structure is prevented while the lifecycle of the machinery itself is significantly prolonged.
The advantages for you
- IMO/SOLAS certification
- Vibration decoupling for greater comfort
- Less secondary airborne noise
- Material properties are constant over the entire service life of the boat
- All the interior fittings are protected from undesirable vibrations
- Unevenness can be balanced out during installation
- International dealer network
- Salt-water resistant
Reference example: M.Y. Excellence superyacht
This solution has also proved itself in the M.Y. Excellence superyacht. Optimum vibration protection was provided by an elastic bearing of the ship's hull from Getzner.
«Ever since I've been sailing this yacht, I've been impressed with how quietly and gently she glides through the water. Thanks to the special bearing solution provided by Getzner, engine noise and vibrations have been reduced to a minimum, allowing the qualities of the luxury yacht to come into their own.»
