Buers/Hamburg. Getzner Werkstoffe would like to invite you to its “Vibration and vibration protection” seminar in Hamburg on 12th May 2016. Experts from various fields will use examples from current practice to discuss themes relating to vibration protection in the rail and construction industry – from the basic principles through case law to product innovation.
Construction projects close to railway lines require effective precautions to protect buildings and residents from vibrations and noise. In the “Vibration and vibration protection” seminar, experts from relevant disciplines will join Getzner vibration specialists to present themes on effective measures to decouple vibrations. “Professional vibration protection presents a puzzling challenge for managers in rail and residential construction projects, particularly in urban districts. This is an area that is gaining in significance, with many factors that need to be considered. The topics covered in our seminar will be beneficial in the planning of new buildings, as well as renovation projects,” believes Thorsten Schroeter, manager of the Getzner subsidiary in Berlin.
The seminar will start with an introduction to the principles of vibration isolation. Presentations that draw on practice will give participants an overview of case law relating to vibration isolation and secondary airborne noise arising from railway traffic, as well as products and systems for vibration isolation and vibration protection. A case study – of elastic bedding directly above a metro line – will be used to demonstrate the challenges in practice. The closing discussion will give participants the opportunity to share experiences in this area and to put questions.
“The seminar is aimed at all those with an interest in this topic and who are confronted with issues relating to vibration protection in their professional life – including those who do not have much experience in this area,” explains Thorsten Schroeter. This includes investors, developers and planners from the construction and railway sectors, project developers and professionals as well as transport authority employees or those working for building, planning and environmental agencies.
