InnoTrans 2012 is drawing closer – increasing significance of elasticity in railway superstructure
We're nearly there: this year's InnoTrans – the international trade fair for transport technology with an emphasis on railway technology – is due to take place from 18th to 21st September 2012 in Berlin. The focus for Getzner will be on elasticity in railway superstructure. In addition to the proven sleeper pad technology, two newly developed systems will be presented to the international trade fair public: the mass-spring XT system for use in standing water and the Embedded Rail system for urban transport.
Reduced wear of the track superstructure through elastic support
The improved track position due to sleeper soles leads to longer maintenance intervals and to a significantly longer overall service life of the superstructure. With a positive cost effect: Life cycle costs are significantly reduced. This is also confirmed by the WINS study of the Graz University of Technology (AT). Getzner will be presenting its proven elastic sleeper soles at InnoTrans. In addition to the two new developments, Getzner will also be presenting new information material for proven solutions such as intermediate layers. They are used particularly in narrow track curves and in the heavy-duty sector.
NEW: XT mass-spring system
With the XT mass-spring system, Getzner has developed a unique system which works reliably and for a long time even in standing water. Even in the absence of drainage, this system retains its effect without any restrictions. It offers the long-term effectiveness of a full-surface Sylomer® bearing. Neighbouring buildings and buildings close to the track are thus effectively protected against noise and vibrations. Due to its durability and long-term stability, the system also reduces life cycle costs.
NEW: Embedded Rail
One vibration-isolating system optimized for inner-city traffic is embedded rail. This highly effective vibration protection with proven Sylodyn® components protects both the track system and the road. Its service life is geared to that of the permanent way. Passengers and railroad users benefit from the improved ride comfort and low noise and vibration emissions. The maintenance costs of the line are also significantly reduced by the installation.
