The World Conference on Timber Engineering is the world's largest timber construction event, providing a platform where the latest developments and innovations can be presented and discussed. At the forthcoming conference to be held between 22nd and 25th August 2016 in Vienna, Getzner will not just be there as an exhibitor. In a technical presentation, Project Manager Hendrik Reichelt will present a structural analysis showing how elastic bearings made of Sylodyn® can reduce vibrations and noise to a minimum. Visitors to the Getzner stand will also be able to find out everything there is to know about TimberCalc, the new calculation program for sound control in timber construction. This is a free tool that enables users to quickly calculate the ideal Sylodyn® flank bearing for themselves.
When planning timber constructions, sound control plays a key role in the quality of working and living conditions. After all, sound is not only transmitted between two rooms via the partitioning element; flanking transmission is also an issue. This means that effective bearings for flanking elements are especially important. "With linear supports developed by Getzner, walls can be decoupled from floors so that flanking sound transmission is virtually eliminated," explains Hendrik Reichelt, Project Manager for sound control in timber construction at Getzner.
